Fall Pickling

It’s just about that time of the year again when you might be thinking about all of the delicious vegetables you can pickle. Whether you’re harvesting from your own backyard garden, your local farmer’s market or shopping at your local grocery store,  you might be considering what to do with all of these vegetables – that’s where fall pickling comes in! It’s one of our favorite times of the year!

Unlike summer vegetables, the fall harvest usually contains vegetables such as beets, carrots, turnips, rutabaga, winter squash, late season peppers, green tomatoes, garlic and various cabbages.

Fall is a magical time for pickling and it has traditionally been THE time of the year for preparing and preserving vegetables throughout history.

Fall is also a great time of the year to enjoy a delicious harvest of pickled vegetables you can make easily with the Great Lakes Pickling Company pickling pouches.
